Thuy Patton’s family came to the United States at the end of the Vietnam War, settling in a small Minnesota town where she and her siblings were the only non-white kids in her school.
If anyone is aware of the potential of bullying in school, it’s Thuy. And for the past four years, she and her husband have driven at least 30 minutes a day to get to Golden View Classical Academy, the model school that the proposed Ascent Classical Academy Flatirons is based on.
