We appreciate the diversity of options that BVSD is well known to value and this is the option that we personally have been following for well over a year now.
The communication between the school and the parents, the culture and climate of the school, the content rich education, and the professionalism we experience daily at Ascent have been second to none.
Frankly, I’m shocked that anyone would suggest GVCA is anything but inclusive and supportive. Not only are my two high school boys minority students of color, they are also adopted and one of them has an IEP, requiring extensive teacher and school support for his learning challenges.
My children and I all hope that you will APPROVE the charter for Ascent Classical Academy. We would love to be a part of BVSD.
We take racism seriously. We attended BVSD meetings, where there was more diversity in families making requests to BVSD than the actual school board itself.
From an education perspective, the move to Ascent could not have been easier. My children are eager to go to school each day.
