Marie is a nurse and mother of three near Boulder, Colorado. She loves her family’s neighborhood school, but wants her kids to receive a classical education.
When she heard about the possibility of a new charter school, Ascent Classical Academy Flatirons, she showed up at a school board meeting to support it.
What she found was not only a school board unwilling to respect her views but a hostile environment that “felt scary.”
