Dear Boulder Valley School Board,
I wanted to send you a note as you are considering the charter application for Ascent Flatirons. I am a parent at Ascent Douglas County, and it is an amazing school. My son excels there, and loves to go to school everyday, whereas last year every day was a struggle for him to want to go. He has learned leaps and bounds more than at his previous schools. I’ve never experienced a more positive ‘vibe’ from any other school setting. I have also noticed that it is a much more diverse school than the average Castle Rock school.
The educational structure of the school is such that any child can thrive there. My son has so much fun every day, but also learns in a structured environment. It sounds like some are suggesting that it is discriminatory, and all I can say is nothing could be further from the truth; Ascent parents and students know it is a school for everyone, where all can attain excellence.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Jennifer
